Dispatcher

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Book and schedule freight with premium rates
- Work with company drivers and owner operators
- Work both with 3PL's and shippers
- Establish a large book of business
- Transfer previously established accounts
- Manage approx. 5-7 units
- Identify priorities; utilize available resources effectively to meet these priorities; anticipate change and/or problems and reallocate resources when necessary
- Confidently make good decisions under timed pressure
- Communicate effectively with customers and drivers providing concise instructions or information
- Use effective listening skills to collect required information or to identify potential problems / warning signs. Escalate information when necessary
- Develop relationships with customers utilize relationships to influence others and gain willing cooperation
- Ensure loads are picked up and delivered on time by tracking driver activity
- Record and maintain files and records
