Arctic Transportation is seeking motivated, high performing individuals to join our award-winning team. This is more than just a sales position; you'll establish relationships and leverage your negotiation skills to secure deals for freight transportation while managing customer shipments from pickup to delivery.
Job Summary:
The Inside Sales Executive is responsible for driving new account acquisition and consistently meeting sales quotas in the Less-than-truckload (LTL) transportation industry. This role involves managing daily transaction volumes, negotiating competitive rates and terms with customers to maximize profitability, and ensuring the timely and efficient shipment process from booking through delivery. The Inside Sales Executive will build and maintain strong relationships with customers and industry contacts, collaborate with the operations team to meet customer specifications, and provide exceptional customer service. Additionally, the role requires staying updated on industry trends and competitor activities, while maintaining accurate records of all transactions and communications in the company’s system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive new account acquisition and consistently achieve sales quota targets.
- Grow share of wallet with existing customers to achieve volume and margin objectives.
- Generate leads through strategic outreach, mass e-mail campaigns, digital marketing, and targeted prospecting.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with customers, industry professionals, and key contacts.
- Collaborate with the operations team to ensure shipments meet customer requirements and company standards.
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients, addressing any issues or concerns with prompt resolution.
- Stay informed on industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities to maintain a competitive edge.
- Ensure sales operations processes including customer onboarding are appropriately executed.
- Responsibilities and tasks outlined are not exhaustive and may change as determined by the needs of the company.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years experience in sales, preferably transportation or logistics sector.
- Strong understanding of the LTL market, including pricing, carriers, and broker relationships.
- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in using logistics software and tools for booking and tracking shipments.
- Detail oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships.
- Availability to work part or full-time, 100% in-office
